The Lion and the Wolf Story

The Lion and the Wolf Story

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, lived a lion and a wolf. The lion was known to be the king of the forest. The wolf, on the other hand, was known to be cunning and always hungry.

One day, the wolf approached the lion and said, “Oh mighty lion, I have an idea. Why don’t we hunt together and share the prey equally?”

The lion, being the kind-hearted creature he was, agreed to the wolf’s proposal. The two started to hunt together and shared their prey equally.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and the wolf began to notice that the lion was getting weaker. One day, he asked the lion, “Oh mighty lion, why are you getting weaker?”

The lion replied, “I have been sharing my portion of the prey with you, and now I am unable to hunt enough for myself. I need to take care of my health.”

The wolf, being the cunning creature he was, came up with another idea. He said, “Oh mighty lion, I have an idea. Let’s hunt separately and bring our own prey. We can still eat together, but we don’t have to share equally.”

The lion agreed to the wolf’s proposal, and they started to hunt separately. The wolf, being faster and agile, caught more prey than the lion. When they sat down to eat, the wolf ate his prey first and then finished the lion’s portion as well.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and the lion grew weaker and weaker. He realized that the wolf was taking advantage of him and eating more than his fair share.

One day, the lion confronted the wolf and said, “Oh cunning wolf, you have deceived me. I trusted you, and you took advantage of my kindness. I cannot continue to hunt with you anymore.”

From that day onwards, the lion decided to hunt on his own and became strong again. The wolf, on the other hand, had to fend for himself and struggled to catch enough prey.

Moral of the story: Never take advantage of someone’s kindness. It always comes back to haunt you in the end.
