The Frog Prince Story in English
Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess who loved to play with her golden ball. She would throw it up in the air and catch it, giggling with joy.
One day, as she was playing, the ball fell into a deep, murky pond. The princess was so upset, she started crying. Just then, she heard a croaky voice say, “What’s the matter, dear princess?”
She turned around and saw a big, fat frog staring at her with its bulging eyes. The princess was disgusted and said, “Oh, it’s you, you ugly creature! My golden ball has fallen into the pond, and I can’t get it back.”
The frog asked, “Do not worry, princess, I can retrieve your ball. But what will you give me in return?”
The princess thought for a moment and said, “I will give you anything you want.”
The frog immediately dove into the pond and emerged with the golden ball in his mouth. The princess was delighted and took the ball from the frog’s mouth. She ran away without saying thank you.
The next day, as the princess was eating her breakfast, she heard a loud knock on the door. When she opened the door, she saw the frog standing there. The frog said, “Princess, remember you promised to give me anything I want in return for your golden ball. I want to eat from your plate, drink from your cup, and sleep on your pillow.”
The princess was horrified and said, “I can’t fulfill your request. You are a dirty frog.”
But the frog replied, “You made a promise, and you have to keep it. Remember, a promise is a promise.”
So, the princess reluctantly let the frog eat from her plate, drink from her cup, and sleep on her pillow. The next morning, the frog woke up the princess and said, “I want to marry you, princess.”
The princess was angry and said, “How can I marry a frog?”
But the frog replied, “You made a promise, and you have to keep it. If you marry me, I will turn into a handsome prince.”
The princess thought for a while and agreed to marry the frog. As soon as she said yes, the frog magically transformed into a handsome prince. The prince explained that a wicked witch had cursed him, and only the princess’s promise to marry him could break the spell.
The princess was overjoyed and married the prince. They lived happily ever after, and the prince never forgot the lesson he learned about the importance of keeping one’s promises.
